Richard Olsen, Head Coach
Rich has been with Pacific Region Baseball's Hawaii Island Movers summer baseball team since 2002. Prior to this, he has assisted high school baseball teams as their pitching coach from 1979 to 2007. Teams include Kalaheo High, Kailua High, Kamehameha Schools and Iolani School. Rich played professional baseball for thirteen years for the Milwaukee Brewers organization, Hanshin Tigers of Japan, Caracas Leones of Venezuela and Grosseto Italy. During his European stint, Rich had the unique distinction of throwing two perfect games - a first in Italian baseball history.
Galen Kitamura, Assistant Coach
Galen has helped coach the Pacific Region Baseball Hawaii Island Movers baseball team since 2007. Since 1986 to 2007, he coached high school baseball at his alma mater, Punahou School. He played collegiate baseball for four years while at Colorado State University.
Mario Monico, Assistant Coach
Mario returns for another season with the Hawaii Island Movers, where he has been a part of the coaching staff since 2008. He is a former University of Hawaii outfielder, and holds several career records including best batting average (.367), total bases (431) and total walks (240). Monico was drafted in the 12th round by the Milwaukee Brewers in 1985 and played professionally for six years.
Blane Muraoka, Assistant Coach
Blane has been with Pacific Region Baseball's Hawaii Island Movers summer baseball team since 2009. He played college baseball at Hawaii Pacific University from 2000 to 2003, then served as Assistant Coach there, in 2004. Since 2005, he has been an Assistant Coach at Punahou Schools, and has remained active in local baseball leagues in Honolulu.
